Artists I Admire... Photographer Lori Vrba

I don't quite remember the circumstances that brought Lori Vrba's work to my attention. Likely I followed a link in one of the blogs that I read regularly. Whatever initiated my arrival at her website, it was my good fortune to discover her work. Her images evoke emotions and feelings in me as few other images have done. She is a self-taught artist committed to film and traditional wet darkroom printing, an increasing rarity these days. But I think her vision would be manifested equally well in whatever media she chose to create it. She's a natural. I'm drawn to everything about her images. Tonality, contrast, subject matter, composition, all come together and speak to me. Not just visually, but imaginatively as well. Hers is a most creative eye. And, not only in her still photography, but in her video dabbling as well. Lori loves life, her family, her friends, and her art. And, to our great benefit, it shows in her work.
